About this Sacred Grove

Amman Kovil Pathi Mariamman / Pattalamman Temple, Krishnagiri - Located in Amman Kovil Pathi near Krishnagiri, this is a revered twin shrine of Goddess Pattalamman and Mariamman, worshipped as the village guardian mother goddesses. Pattalamman, considered the army protector goddess, guards the village from wars, epidemics and evil forces, while Mariamman cures heat diseases, smallpox, fever and child ailments. Together they are believed to remove black magic, evil eye, family troubles and grant rain, good harvest and family welfare. Devotees worship for child boon, marriage, safe delivery and prosperity. Very powerful for women devotees, the Goddess is believed to grant wishes quickly. Tuesdays, Fridays and Aadi, Panguni festivals with pongal, neem leaves, fire pots and saree offerings attract thousands seeking health and protection.
