About this Sacred Grove

In Anthiyur, Erode, the Thavasiyappan Sacred Grove is protected by villagers as the abode of Saint-God Thavasiyappan. No one cuts a tree or plucks a leaf, fearing the deity's wrath. The small grove near Bargur hills shelters native trees, herbs, birds and insects, acting as a green island. During festivals, only rituals are allowed. This faith has preserved biodiversity for centuries, making it a living example of culture protecting nature.
