Spread over 1.2 hectares and dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and sacred Stone deity under the Alampalakundan lineage, the grove is strictly protected by community taboos against felling trees.It preserves dense native trees, sacred groves vegetation, medicinal herbs and habitats for birds, reptiles and small fauna, acting as a vital biodiversity refuge. It supports groundwater recharge, soil conservation and ecological balance, reflecting Lakshmi folk worship of Kanyakumari.
