About this Sacred Grove
This deity is the presiding deity for the local villagers and they climb/trek for about 3 kms on the hills to reach the temple. This deity called as Masi Periyasamy, is termed as a very powerful one and large numbers of devotees visit the temple on all the days. Pujas are performed by Shepherd community people of the village. Villagers believe that the God Masi Periyasamy is the ancestor God of the popular village deities like Karuppu, Muni, etc. People write their wishes on a piece of paper and tie it in the temple, Live hens are also impaled on a spear. In order to fulfil their wish for building a new house, devotees arrange stones on the rocks. Childless couples tie a thottil in the hope of being blessed with a child. They also offer grains to the deity to have good yield in their lands.
