Kethakadu Kaliyamman Sacred Grove is located at Kethakadu village, Kinathukadavu Taluk, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Goddess Kaliyamman, the fierce protector, the grove is revered as her powerful abode. Folklore says Kaliyamman guarded the village from epidemics, drought and evil spirits, appearing as a ball of fire in the dense bushes. After villagers witnessed miraculous cures, good rainfall and her oracle, they installed her idol under the sacred trees. Since then, she is worshipped for village protection, health, fertility of land and prosperity. Cutting trees, harming wildlife or entering impure inside the grove is strictly forbidden fearing her wrath, and it is conserved through deep faith, Pongal offerings and annual Adi Thiruvizha festival.
