About this Sacred Grove

In this temple, local villagers offer worship and prayers as their clan and favourite protector God. A unique feature in the temple is that the God Periyandichi Amman is gracing the devotees in a reclining stance.  This Amman Goddess is believed to be a corpse eating and cremation god. Devotees make an image of the Goddess Amman with clay and worship it. Special pujas are performed on Sundays, Amavasai days and during the annual festival in Tamil first month, Chithirai. Villagers prayers and offerings include Milk offering, Paal kudam and offer animal sacrifices also.
