Paraipallam Sakthi Mariyamman Sacred Grove is located at Paraipallam village, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Goddess Sakthi Mariyamman, the goddess of rain and health, the grove is revered as her sacred abode. Folklore says Sakthi Mariyamman protected tribal settlers from epidemics, wild animals and drought near the forest stream. After her divine presence was felt through dreams, miraculous cures and timely rainfall, villagers installed her idol under the dense grove. Since then, she is worshipped for good monsoon, health, child welfare and crop prosperity. Cutting trees, hunting or polluting water inside is strictly taboo fearing her curse, and it is preserved through faith and annual Adi and Pongal festivals.
