About this Sacred Grove

Semmankudi Kamatchiyamman is a revered Goddess worshipped by the people of Semmankudi, a village near Paramakudi. Known for her fierce protective nature, deep compassion and miraculous interventions, Kamatchiyamman is a central figure in the spiritual life of the village. One of the most famous stories associated with Semmankudi Kamatchiyamman is, that many years ago a severe epidemic had struck the village, causing great suffering to all the villagers and despite the best efforts by the local healers, the disease continued to spread and miraculously got healing after drinking water from the temple tank.  Her temple is a place of devotion, where villagers come to seek her blessings, protection, and guidance.
