About this Sacred Grove

Sennivanam Karupasami/Sengamuthu/Ambachi also known as Sengamuthu or Ambachi, is a revered deity in Tamil Nadu, particularly associated with the sacred grove of Sennivanam. This grove and its deity are central to local spiritual practices and beliefs. The sacred grove of Sennivanam is believed to have been established during a time of great need. According to legend, once the village faced a severe drought, leading to a widespread famine and in their desperation, the villagers prayed to Karupasami for relief. Karupasami appeared in their dreams and directed them to a specific location in the forest. There, they found His idol under a hidden water source. By establishing the idol in the grove and performing rituals, the village was saved from the drought, and the grove became a revered site of worship.
