Legend says seven virgin sisters settled as guardian of fields after protecting village from plague. Poraiyathal with Saptha Kanniga is main deity, Pechi, Veeran and Karuppu are sub-deities. Annual festival in Aadi (July-August) includes pongal, neem garlands, glass bangle offering and abhishekam. Belief is she cures skin disease, grants marriage and child boon and protects village.
