About this Sacred Grove
Located within Reserved Forest in Tiruchengode, Namakkal district, this sacred grove is associated with Lord Arthanareeswarar, the half Shiva-half Parvati form. Worshipped as symbol of unity of male and female energies, the deity protects forest, hill pilgrims and villagers from evil, drought and misfortune. Local belief says Arthanareeswarar appeared on Tiruchengode hill to show equality of Shiva and Shakti to saints. Devotees pray for marital harmony, child blessings, dosha removal and spiritual balance. The dense RF grove on hill slopes preserves rare medicinal plants, ancient trees, peacocks and wildlife as sacred, jointly guarded by temple and forest department. Pradosham, full-moon and Navaratri poojas with abhishekam and vilva leaves maintain Kongu Shiva-Shakti tradition where sacred faith ensures hill forest biodiversity conservation.
