About this Sacred Grove

Waterfalls CSI St. Mark's Church Sacred Grove is located at Waterfalls Estate, Mettupalayam Taluk, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. Maintained by the CSI St. Mark's Church community, the grove is revered as a God-created sacred forest. Folklore says early British missionaries and estate workers preserved this patch as a prayer forest, believing nature itself is God's temple. Workers who prayed here experienced protection from landslides, wild animals and epidemics. Since then, the grove is considered sacred and blessed. Cutting trees, hunting or polluting the stream inside is strictly prohibited by church and community elders. It is conserved through Christian faith, community stewardship and as a symbol of harmony between faith and nature conservation.
